And yes, it's somewhat germane to the issue that his son is on the team, but it's pretty much accepted here that we don't talk about specific kids, ever.

Small clubs are doing a lot for kids that most don't know about because they're not in the social media spotlight.
No academy team becomes the first team. Individual players on their merit move up.
No college signs a team, they sign individual players.
Focus on your development and less about being seen.
Top players can't hide even if they want to
That's fine when the kids are younger, but if you're interested in playing in college, it's easier to be seen if you're on MLS Next or ECNL. Not the only way to be seen, certainly, but it's the best way to be seen by a lot of coaches.

I agree this doesn’t sound like the 2008 team. My kid was on that team at u9 and the talent was evident. He eventually moved on because he was in the wrong place but most of the team stayed intact.
Then I guess the PP who said several 2008 players on the BSC MLS Next team came from Potomac is mistaken

Correct. I feel like every BSC MLSN and ECNL team has boys and girls who have passed through Potomac. It’s like an unofficial feeder system.
Exaclty, which is why they wanted ECNL, to keep their best players around. And why their 2008 ECNL team was such a disapointment...becasue it didn't work.

I’m not sure you can say all that when the RL team is actually doing really well.
One RL team is doing well. All the NL, and all the other RL teams are not.
