You're clearly paying for your sophisticated bidet. "This exquisite single-family home boasts 5 bedrooms, 4 full and 2 half bathrooms, including a lavish master suite with dual walk-in closets, a mini-fridge-equipped dry bar, a double vanity, a large walk-in shower, and a sophisticated toilet with a bidet.". Complete with pictures #44.

It's now down to $2.25. Will it sell for that? I think no.

You would have to be an idiot to pay 825k for a substandard lot that would them force you to "renovate" to maintain square footage, rather than build new. I cannot imagine what ill-informed person would do this but they are going to have to take a bath on this one. Hopefully not in one of those hideous bathrooms.

It’s a “major remodel” per Zillow, not new construction. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/258-N-Barton-St-Arlington-VA-22201/12085979_zpid/

“new construction: No
Year built: 1930
Notable dates
Major remodel year: 2024

This house just makes me feel a bit better about my recent home purchase, which I thought was too much…now I see I got a deal.

This house is horribly ugly and the yard is tiny. That would be hell for me to live there. I will just keep my house on multiple acres and avoid the misery.

It doesn't look like a flip to me. Looks like a new build, though an ugly one.

It says in the listing it's Reno.

It says newly constructed.

Then why does it list reno details (built 1930, etc) and why does it highlight "new HCAC systems?" Is it just a sloppy listing?

2.5 and they can’t even bother to stage it?

Yeah it's a new construction. If you look at the listing pictures from 2022 the house looks very very different (it was a teardown listing).

Also, not sure about this of course, but it seems like they may have spent around 1.2m on the construction of that awful ugly places (homes.com is amazing for not only seeing old listings, but also mortgage info).

LOL they won't get 2.1. Maybe 1.8.

You can't get anything for $1.8 anymore.

Check the recently sold homes on Zillow using the price filters. You can get homes for 1.8M and less. Even in north Arlington.

Exactly, you can get some thing very nice for under 2m, or in this case 1.8mish in the N Arlington area. Not sure how out of touch that poster is

I meant new construction.
