You should like my mom. I barely talk to her now. It was so obvious that she did not and does not care about our interests. Why did you even have kids and why even go to the games??
I assume you have lots of other problems with your mom.
Teen kids don’t really care if you attend their games. It’s a balance, but they definitely don’t need or want you at each and every one.
Of course we all know awful parents at games and those kids wish their parents never came…and may have equally awful relationships with their parents as adults.

I love my kids. I just find watching them practice/play sports to be boring. I can watch them dance or do play rehearsals for hours on end no problem, and sports are not their whole lives - I have spent two hours helping them study for tests, run lines for play tryouts, do hairstyles, etc. I only go to the games when they ask, and it's mostly so I know who they're talking about at home, and understand what they're talking about.
That sounds sad, that you can only be interesting if it's your interest as well. My kids have all latched onto sports and activities that I know nothing about. But I'm always their biggest fan, in whatever they do. Not only if it happens to please me.

Anonymous wrote:I get stressed out in an individual sport and can barely watch. I think it's because I also did that sport so I can easily pick up mistakes. In team sports I am surprisingly relaxed.
Anonymous wrote:Do you get stressed watching your DC’s games? How do you cope with it? Inget stressed because my kid is always nervous during his games and that ends up effecting his performance. Then he is upset about his performance too. I don’t think that me not watching is fair to him either. I keep telling myself.. its just a game..
