Not OP, not a trumpist. Just find Vindman's exploitation of a mediocre army career for political gain gross. Just saw his ad about his inability to dress because he spent 25 years in the Army - that is only partial truth. He was not on active-duty all 25 years, had significant break as a reservist where he was some Democratic mayor of a town in Georgia. I assume he did not wear his military uniform in that gig. His military success was on the backs of people who actually have some selfless service, and he could not have cared less about those brothers in arms. I suspect he would feel the same about his constituents.
This still boils down to him rubbing you the wrong way.
Seems to me that you don't want to believe people who actually know him and have worked with him that he is a jerk and someone who simply wants to make a name for himself at the expense of anyone around him.

OP here. I mentioned my dislikes several times, however they include an antipathy towards the rural western counties of our district, his family's political attack on a local state senator from Fredericksburg, and his complete absence in the 2023 local elections. I still have those political ads seared into my memory: HI I'M TARA DURANT, CATHOLIC SCHOOL TEACHER AND MARINE WIFE, I HAVE NO IDENTITY OF MY OWN, VOTE FOR ME.

I have met her a few times and I think she is a bit pandering, but follows the Dem line and likes to be out in front on occasion. Better than Vindman in a lot of ways - has done a lot more work for people in Virginia than Vindman. (I hope Rachel doesn't find me and accuse me of discriminating against members of the military for saying so!)
