I don't get that? You aren't guaranteed games each week?
Which team is that? Sounds like McLean and not Vienna. It's not our experience.
I have a friend who's DD is in VYS. They don't have set teams. They will pull up players from lower teams who are the best to create a roster of 15-16 players for games. So, if you're not on the top team each week your teammates are different. Unsure about McLean, but I've never heard of them doing this. They have set team roster and only guest play when needed (too many players can't make the game, etc).
Lots of confusion on this. I can clarify.
For a couple of years, at uLittle, on the girls’ side only, VYS tried an experiment with “fluid teams”, where you could be rostered on different color teams (red, black, white) on different weekends. So one week you play with the top team, another week you play with the second team.
It was well intended, uLittle players aren’t consistent, allowed kids to try different positions (top team defender could play striker for second team), etc. They were trying to create more opportunities and take the stigma out of getting “moved down”.
My understanding is that it didn’t work, and they have done away with the idea. It was never done on the boys’ side.
