It will be very interesting to see the younger generations of women age single, and alone, with no families of their own. Will they have enough saved for retirement? How will they make it? I have an older female relative -- single, childless, early 70s -- living in another relative's garage because they lost their job. Can't find another one that covers the bills, now health is failing. Without the help of nieces and nephews, she might be on the streets.

Feminism is not the opposite of being a slave to a selfish, needy male.
It’s equality. Equal opportunity in education, jobs, voting, rule of law.
There has ALWAYS been equality of life habits and homelife and parenting.
Males and Females choose every day to clean up after themselves, teach your kids something, call a friend or family member, make a meal for others, etc. Or not. One can also choose to leave a mess, ignore their kids, never socialize, and whine about how they’re hungry all the time.

Only among white liberal women. Koreans...where it started...keep laughing at white liberals.

In the spring of 2024 in the Northern Hemisphere, South Korea's 4B movement was a popular topic on Western social media. English-speaking users on TikTok claimed that Korea's low birth rate was due to the 4B movement.[23] But its opponents claimed that the 4B movement's massive scale is exaggerated.[24] For example, a blogger Anna Lee, who lives in Seoul, said that the media exaggerates the scale of 4B and that the 4B movement in Korea is a very small part of the entire population of Korea.[25] Even though the 4B movement was a minority in Korean society, users on TikTok sensationalized and faulted the 4B movement as the root cause of low birth rate of South Korea.[26]

Most of the women preaching the 4b movement in the US are women men wouldn't want anyways. So if they're not trying to date it saves guys the trouble and headaches honestly.
Men aren't avoiding marriage, they're avoiding divorce. Most marriages are dissolved by women, and even in the case of lesbian couples, the divorce rates are astronomically high. Gay men have the lowest divorce rates.
Marriage rates are actually increasing nonethless
https://www.livenowfox.com/news/marriage-rates-us-divorce-cdc-data
According to divorce stats here:https://www.forbes.com/advisor/legal/divorce/divorce-statistics/
66% of Men and 74% of Women Think Their Partners Should Have Worked Harder to Save the Marriage
It shows three-quarters of women don't take responsibility for their actions that lead to divorce.
70% of women initiate divorces.
Men have been protesting marriage for over a decade now, it isn't new:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/jerrybowyer/2014/01/08/men-are-on-strike-throughout-the-u-s-what-are-the-causes/?sh=4deaff9861e6
A whole book was written about it about ten years ago, and it still rings true today. Guys don't see the benefit of marriage when it will likely end if divorce and one initiated by the woman. Heck, women divorce other women at the same rates. So men are avoiding divorce.

Interesting development. What do we think is causing this?

I could see that being the case here n the east coast amongst black and white women, but not with other demographics and not with the rest of the country.
pew is left biased so Unf their surveys don’t get out of their bubbles.
The survey is actually nationally representative. It might not fit your own experiences, but it's statistically reliable. https://www.pewresearch.org/social-trends/2020/08/20/methodology-38-2/

I would be loaded if I never married and had kids. I would have millions more saved than I already do. Marriage + kids has not been a good financial investment. It has also drawn me away from friendships because, between work, marriage, and kids, I have no time for my own friendships and hobbies. I love my kids and don't regret them, but there is no doubt I would be much wealthier if I had remained single.

It’s not some immutably principled stand against being partnered. Given enough time, most women will end up in a relationship again. Even the ones who say they loooove being single.
Except the data directly contradicts that, since older women are overwhelmingly choosing to be single, more than any other demographic. And those are the women who know the most what a marriage and partnership with a man will entail
