Your kid is a soccer player, and it would be best to train him as such. Even the best of the best transition to other rolls depending on team needs, coach philosophy and developing or declining skill sets over career. When things get really competitive in the teen years, it's a helluva lot easier to make a team when you can play three positions as opposed to just one. Because when you say you're a striker, and a perceived better striker comes along - now you're on the outside looking in. The goal is to stay on the field.

No, that's not it. Tried it one season and felt it was just scrimmaging the whole time with Arlington players. Nothing special at all.

My kids trained with him a few times a couple years ago, he's a good trainer but definitely a "those jokes might get you in trouble one day" kinda guy. No opinion on the alleged accusations but when it comes to his "jokes" he walks the edge.

Was he employed by McLean? I heard he would volunteer and perhaps that is how he was able to recruit kids to his program.

The xe made me laugh. We like Futstars too. I appreciate how organized and communicative they are. I think it’s better for boys age 9-12 than very young kids or teens, or girls at most ages, just based on what we have seen. There are always a lot more boys than girls. Could be good for a girl who doesn’t mind playing with boys. Or maybe bring a teammate along for a girl who might worry they are the only one.
