Israel cannot defeat Iran and they aren't trying to. They're trying to defeat Hamas. Whether they can do that or not is a different question.

Israel is by far a superior military force compared to Iran. Iran is funding Hamas and Israel has no illusions about the head of this snake.

That bombing campaign only worked because of a few million Soviet boots on the ground. Good thing we ended up alienating Russia and pretty much guaranteeing they won't be on our side this time.

To be fair we spend the lives and money in nation building and police actions. In Iraq we rolled through the military in 72 hours or so. If we went to war with Iran we should just stick to the war part, and it wouldn’t take much more time than that to eliminate their navy and Air Force and bomb all of the drone manufacturing and nuclear facilities. Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE would help out, locally.

However, Iran has no appetite for wider war, they are just trying make it look like they’ve done something to appeal to their hardliners.

What if Israel finds itself in a sticky situation it can’t get out of? What Bibi gets Israel into a deeper conflict and the various Israeli agencies can’t handle it? Will Americans troops have to die for this?

Israeli generals don’t want to be dragged in either. However politically Netenyahu needs to escalate. That’s why the US is hyping this nothing burger. The source is some government official to ABC. Why wasn’t it officially announced? Is there anyone in the western media reporting from Iran itself? Arab media, many of it anti Iran have correspondents in Iran. The aljazeera arabic correspondent is reporting hearing the sound of an explosion but could not find the impact on the ground. No one witnessed any missiles so the speculation is that they are mini drones. My family lives in a Gukf Arab country right next to Iran. They told me that the only source in Arab tv for the attack is western and Israeli media but the correspondents on the ground are confused. Life is going on as usual.

Have you not learned from Iraq and Afghanistan? What about ISIS and the Taliban is freeing? War only helps terrorism increase. When people lose their homes, their families, their livelihoods in an instant and school is interrupted or non existent due to war, what will these boys/men do? Who will they turn to ?

Are you suggesting one day they’ll just come to their senses? The reality is nothing will change without it and there is a possibility it could go the wrong way. I believe the Iranian people are ready unlike those in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I think you need your head examined. We barely have democracy here. Our lawmakers have been in office for 40+ years no term limits . Many were there before the Iranian Revolution/new government there.

Why can’t we leave well enough alone? Iran isn’t no dump. It’s a developed country . Why destroy it? If they want regime change, let them do it. It’s not our place or job to do it for them. We have our own problems.
