I’m very familiar with both. We can argue all day about academics, placement, & rankings; bottom line is they are both very good. It’s a tie.

Also both great college towns. Another tie.

But shift to variables where there really are differences…IU def better weather, generally easier to get to (fly to Indy, bus/shuttle to Bloomington, or if by car it’s closer), & in this case it’s cheaper.

Biggest undeniable advantage for UW is the football scene is much better than at IU.

As you can tell from the responses, no one can tell your kid where to go. Ranking, job placement, etc. mean nothing if your kid is not happy there. I could have easily put this same post out there 4 years ago. Where should my kid go: uva, IU, or nyc for business. The answers would have been the same. But guess which one my kid is graduating from: yes IU. With a job no less, making good money living in the dmv. Based on dcum responses, that should have never happened.
