We were in the TPMS magnet (at the time it was not a lottery after the 1st cut like it is now) and I don't think we would have been happy at TPMS without the magnet program. That's no shade to the school or the kids but specific to what our child needed.
It's a great program but probably not as significant as some would make out. Yes, math and science go a little deeper and move at a faster pace. It's nice that this is an option, but it would be fine in regular classes, too. My child who went through the program found Spanish to be their hardest class by far.

Not a lot of options there for change since there is no high school in the entire East portion of the county south of the beltway. Blair still services that area says its original location was silver sprig. In fact, the next closest high school to us is BCC, which is 3 minutes further away than Blair.
Sure, but the dividing lines between Blair, Northwood, Einstein, and BCC are likely to be redrawn.
Yeah, but Takoma Park is safe.

Your dumbness is showing by your roll 🙄.
Try to understand the "context" before you answer next time.
Why is "context" in quotation marks?
To Emphasize.

Making changes around the edges is sufficient in 90%+ of the cases. There are more important battles to wage than this.

There really aren't a lot of close in schools in that area. Blair isn't even that close, but he is a little closer than BCC, which is very downcounty since it's inside the Beltway.
Reminder that there are four factors. Proximity is just one of the four.
Perhaps, but because these are already among the most diverse schools in the state that isn't a factor.
But proximity carries the most weight.
