Also places like LPQ have normalized “side salad at breakfast” for my family, so yay.

What is LPQ? Salad is my fave food.

I was so relived when I found out Japanese people eat fish for breakfast because I sometimes do too, despite being a white american. This morning I was scrounging since I don't have a lot of food currently as a trip is coming, and I just had cashews and blueberries for breakfast.

What off-the-beaten-path things do you eat for breakfast?

LOL, as someone who despises breakfast food, my first business trip to Japan was SO validating.

Yeeesss. Japan has awesome breakfasts. I'm not big on breakfast in general right after waking up, but when I do break that fast (might be 10-11am) I eat some kind of savory leftover. I'm definitely that person at brunch bypassing the eggs and french toast for an Italian sub or steak salad. I'd have sushi if it made sense here.

Leftover curry on toast …any curry will do. Sometimes I will top it with meaty cheese - especially if it’s chicken curry or potato curry.

this pregnancy had me craving ham sandwiches, so I made those for a bit after morning drop off. Deli ham with melted cheese and toasted bread, crispy lettuce, mayo, mustard with a side of pickles and either cucumbers or carrots and a plum.

It lasted about 2.5 weeks and now its eggs and toast with plum (obsessed with plums).

My guilty pleasure breakfast is McDonalds pancakes. I know they arent even real pancakes but I love them. Only have them once in a blue moon. I should probably find some better pancakes but

When I was about 12/13 I ate pickles, peanut butter and milk for breakfast for a few days a week for about a month. No crossing/dipping just individually eating 2 or 3 pickle spears then a spoonful of peanut butter and milk.

I make a lot of grilled cheese and apple sandwiches on sourdough. Also eat chicken sandwiches for breakfast, as well as homemade chicken noodle soup.
