The word you seek is "oxymoron."

We have a lot of them in our lexicon.

Ironic statement.

There really aren't any leftists in America. Maybe a handful. But MAGA extremists who hate our country are about 20% of the population.

There's at least one DCUM poster who uses this and it is so annoying.

Fair enough

It’s patronizing I always feel certain they don’t agree or can’t relate at all.

“Sending you love and light” sounds twee and cringey to me. Just say “I’m thinking of you” or something.

The word adulting. Don’t try to use a cute term to deflect from the fact that you are lazy and/or immature and can’t manage “adulting” aka doing your taxes and remembering trash day. It is part of the general trend these days of idolizing childhood and its lack of responsibilities and not wanting to grow up. It used to be that kids were eager to grow up. Now you have a popular song that blasted nonstop on the radio a few years ago talking about “if I could turn back time, to the good dope days, where the mama sang us to sleep “ and describes how playing in a treehouse is better than having a job. Like, is that the attitude of our teens today???

Also, “put on your big girl panties” is condescending and generally used towards a woman who dares to complain about something.

Can't you remember the person's name or role in the bereaved person's life (e.g your mother, your brother)?

Wut

Can't you say "I was sorry to hear that your mother passed away", instead of saying "'I'm sorry for your loss", as if you can't remember if it was your friend's mother, father or investment portfolio that suffered a loss.

DP. One of my biggest pet peeves is people who look for bad intentions where none exist.

I hate hearing adults asking anyone over toilet-training age if they “need to go potty”, or referring to themselves in the same terms.

Just wondering if you’re British?

Any reference to "God's Plan" when something bad happens.
