I live in Nashville part time. It is very much not a "warm weather" climate. It's like the mid-Atlantic with regular winter sleet. And a lot of grey, rainy, chilly days Nov-Feb.

Raleigh, Winston-Salem and Charlottesville are also not endlessly warm and also get snow.

The southern CA UCs - UCLA, UCSB, etc. Northern CA is not "warm".

I think any of the UCs as well. There is no snow or freezing temps at UC Berkeley. It can be anywhere from low 50-70s in the winter in Northern California. I agree with Stanford, Pomona, USC, Cal Tech, Harvey Mudd, Univeristy of Florida, University of Miami and would add Arizona State, Pepperdine, University of Hawaii.
