In my observations, the use of red mulch is popular with some ethic groups. Criticizing red mulch can get you labeled a racist here.

Ignore the race baiting moron as usual.

Thanks for the heads up. I did not know this. I think red mulch is so ugly. I can’t believe people actually pay landscaper s to do this. Now I’m racist too. Lol!

And where does carbon come from? Carbon black is a by-product of burning fossil fuels...it's essentially soot. Which I would not want applied to my yard.

Where do you think the carbon in those fossil fuels came from?

Personally I would not use dyed mulch. One, It is not natural, two, no matter what the pushers of these dyed mulches say I truly believe the dyes do leach into the soil, and cause harm to it. For me this is bad news. Leaf mulch is the natural way to go from my prespective. Yes, I have used dyed mulch. Just did not know any better at the time, it just looked good. By using Leaf mulch, and compost I'am turning my dirt into rich soil. Leaf mulch increases the survival of beneficial microbial properties in the soil ; (I got worms) in my case helped turn dirt into rich soil. Plus, dyes are toxic (deadly) to humans as well as other life forms.
