Correct, the two homes are just connected on the first floor.
This was previously one SFH, which was torn down to build two SFH-sized homes attached at the hip.
I wonder if they had to attach the houses so it would count as "one" structure?
Lot not large enough or wrong shape for zoning to allow two detached SFH.

The front door is on Uhler. The driveway is on Uhler. You could live your entire life in this house and never touch commonwealth. The address may be Commonwealth but for practical purposes it’s on Uhler, one full house in from commonwealth. This isn’t confusing unless you want it to be.
