If you’re white and Christian then Wake; if you’re Jewish or a minority then Tulane; if you are anything and seeking a much bigger school then UGA.

Athens seems liberal and Atlanta kids don’t seem conservative

Are there any significant differences between UGA and Chapel Hill?

It is not near anything, small campus. preppy and conservative.

downtown winston-salem is fund, but you have to take a shuttle bus

How conservative?

Wake isn't particularly conservative, it's just not super woke left wing SJW like most T50s.

It’s not conservative, middle of the road would be more accurate.

- parent of current student who leans very left and is completely comfortable at Wake.

I vote UGA. Rapidly rising in rankings whereas the other two have fallen out of favor. It’s a very respectable school. Either way, all good choices.

Depends what you want to study.

The level of personal interaction and service at Wake is great. Add small classes and professors who are readily accessible, and it is a great option, plus ACC sports and good school spirit.

But to a PP question, if you are an engineering student, larger schools usually have more labs and resources, which is why some people pay for them.

Because the public school could be better?

Sarcasm. There has not been a change in the school -- only in US News' criteria for ranking, now leaning heavily on outcomes for First-Gen students vs. percentage of students in top 10% of high school class, etc.

Anonymous wrote:So really, in one year since US News ranked them, Wake acceptance rate dropped to 20%, but they became less selective in accepting people from the top 10% of their HS class, all of their teachers with doctorates quit which caused their classes to quadruple in size, and alumni giving collapsed.

Where is your data showing Wake is better at those things as of this year?
