VT is much better. A true college town and much more school spirit. It's sad how few people go to UMD football games.
considering VT football is getting completely dismembered by the transfer portal i’m sure things are headed the UMD way in the very near future. very sad for the ACC in general.

Meaning: your kid will have cadets in their classes. These students come in wearing their uniforms. Neat, clean, and crisp, and they come to class respectful and prepared. It raises the game for everyone else.
i’m a huge fan. but down to earth!? ummm no, the school is dominated by NoVA kids and the last thing they are in down to earth unless you are hanging with the kids who are Onsite admission kids.
I never had a cadet in a class the 4 years I was there.
I loved it there. VT kids are very down-to-earth.
Anonymous wrote:Why do you like it? DD is looking at started at the business school. She prefers it over UVA (not a direct admit to business school).
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:If the plan is business school this is a no brainer. Business decisions are almost always risk vs reward value based decisions. Direct admit to business school vs a chance you might not get into business school. What is the correct business decision. There is your answer.
+1
"direct admit" is the only answer here that is important OP.
Never ever go to a college and not be a direct admit in Business or Engineering.

This makes the school feel more like West Point than a state university. Off putting for many.
You realize that many universities have ROTC on campus, right?
DP
Yeah, but it is few students. It would be 1 in a 500 chance you have a class with one and that they would be in uniform in a class.
I also find it a weird comment. It’s not a negative but not a positive either…it just is.
