I was just going to post the same. I’m not a fan of Red Lobster, but do love Olive Garden. My kids actually turned me onto OG. They love OG and I must confess, for a chain it’s pretty good. Breadsticks, soup and salad are great and the pasta is fine- just avoid pasta with chicken, since it can be rubbery.

I used to go to Red Lobster as a kid and loved it.

However, a few years ago I tried one in NYC and it was awful. Food was barely passable and service was terrible. Haven't been back since. I do enjoy the biscuit mix in stores though.

It’s in an iffy shopping center but I scored most of my favorite clothing pieces there as well as a $150 Breville toaster. I browse the “outside” racks where they put the newer clothes and don’t bother with the other stuff. Also they have cute shoes sometimes. The TJ Maxx in Bowie isn’t bad either. TJ Maxxes in Virginia are garbage next to them both.

When you’re done there, swing by the nearby Costco for the most easy breezy relaxing Costco experience of your life. Seriously, it’s the only uncrowded Costco I’ve ever been to. And the people are more relaxed and polite.

Next to that Costco is a Nordstrom Rack that isn’t that great, but has all the bras for busty ladies at a deep discount. I’ve gotten all my favorite bras from there.

Thrifty shopper Virginia bonus round: the Talbots outlet in Springfield. I’ve found so many lovely basics at this store for $30 or less. When I had to go to the office it was my place for blazers and office wear.


Now that I know you shop at Talbot's the rest of your shopping hints mean nothing to me.

Red Lobster's seafood (and food in general I guess) is terrible. I wouldn't publicly admit to going there, but I occasionally do (for the cheddar chive biscuit things and the popcorn shrimp, which I enjoyed immensely as a child when Red Lobster was considered, in my home town, to be very fancy indeed; right up there with Ponderosa, lol).

You can buy the mix at pretty much any store.
