I'm not sure what PP means about "individualistic style" of soccer, because most of the Arlington teams work quite a bit on passing -- they just can score.
This is Alexandria too. It was Barca when my kids were there too.
It's a big frustration for everyone that nobody can finish these days.
It's funny---when I was a kid everyone wanted to be a goal-scoring striker. You had some amazing strikers with creativity and finishing ability. It is next to impossible to find a good "9" these days.
I have a kid U18/19 MLSNext and if the one '9' is injured, nobody else can finish--but at least they have one 9. On my other kid's ECNL team, the forwards could not finish on a wide open goal.
Beautiful building and zero finishing. Gone are beautiful long shots (which you still see in FIFA games).
My older son was a goal scoring machine--total nose for the goal...which was pretty much beat out of him. Then it became so he would never take a gddamn shot. He'd always pass it---even when the shot was the correct thing for that moment/space, etc.
those girls get along.. are patient… play out of the back and played up against competition during their pre ecnl years. Synergy is maxed out… unicorn of a team and a thorn for all of the 2011s in this areaAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Arlington has been a kickball club for the last 15 years, they just want to win games at all costs. Besides their 2011 girls team they have the worst girls program in the area.
What make the 2011 different than other age group? If we say Arlington does kickball - then I would assume they all are across the age group.

It's pretty amazing the level of talent. Even their 3rd and 4th teams are strong. Both finished 1st in NCSL league in Fall. Black team had something like 40 goals that season so no - they can across the board in 2011 shoot![]()
2011 year is loaded with talent and for a variety of reasons, everyone went to Arl. But they have an ADP League between Rec and Travel which they are able to pull from - it's like a developmental league where they can identify talent and a lot of those girls end up at U11/U12 transferring into Travel league upon invitations. It's a good way to develop talent that I don't see other clubs leveraging.
We played with another large club in the area and I would say Arl is much more aggressive in not pushing passing - not that they don't embrace it but the name of the game is definitely about scoring. Alexandria for example is crazy about developing passing to the point where everyone loses and by the time of U12, the players sick of losing because they don't know how to score.
Rankings app has Arlington 2011G as #1 in country. I don’t know whether they really are the best team nationwide, but they must be really good to rank that high. With that acknowledged, note also that the second team is 300+, third team is 500+, and fourth team is 800+, so let’s not get carried away with how good the entire age group is.

I don’t think this is true in the last 5 years. Both the kickball and the focus on winning at all cost. Focus on development. Your info sounds old.
DP. Arlington is straight up kick and run with no midfield. It's all about athletism. They are unable to pass under pressure and lack technical skills. Just watch the horrendous first tough.
They win by running 6-7 teams deep. They picking the fastest and biggest girls. Then roll the ball out. There is little to no development. They never change formations and the players are locked in to positions at u9.
Anytime they face a team that has equal athletes they lose. As they age up they move down the table.
