Congrats OP! My DD is a rising senior. Her housemate is in the Freeman B school and really likes it. The kids all seem to have good internship opportunities. Nola is a great town and DD is really enjoying her time at Tulane. Hope your DD does as well!

Tulane is falling in overall rankings. UGA is rising.
Yeah but those rankings are skewed because Tulane tends to be white and wealthy and those rankings are based on that in large part.
Tulane connections and network are great. I would go to Tulane. No I did not go there but have family that did.

I'm biased because I went to law school at Tulane, but I'll chime in here that it was the best 3 years of my life. Tulane students are happy, New Orleans is an incredible place to be for a few years, and the social opportunities are great. As far as networking goes -- as my friends and I always put it: The Cult of Tulane is Strong.
There has been some chatter on here about Tulane being "mostly rich kids." I think that is pretty accurate. Rich kids from the south, and rich kids from the Eastern Seaboard with a large portion of those kids coming from NY. I did not grow up rich, and after my 1L year I asked my boyfriend to buy me some diamond earrings because all of the other female students were wearing them. But still -- like I said -- best 3 years of my life.

They said, your kid sounds very social and it might not make sense to pay that much more for Tulane. You can save the money for grad school or gift them a down payment.
The rankings seem all over the place. I would tend to defer to poets and quants but I’m no expert. I don’t think I’d focus on Tulane “dropping” in rankings. That’s just a function of the weird us news changing of the inputs in a way that really elevated large state flagships.
To be fair state flagships are more popular than ever. Especially elite flagships like UGA.

Oh and also because you don't really have to worry about hurricanes in Athens
