A 9 year old is plenty old to hang out in the house while you read a book. Im 43 and have a 4 and 8 year olds and on Sunday afternoons. They play in the house-outside and i read something for a couple hours. And then i make dinner. Half the tome the 8 year old also curls up with a book and reads next to me while her sister enjoys no-one messing with her toys.

I had my kids at 35 and 37, so just a year younger than you. I, too, feel exhausted a lot of the times, but I have plenty of friends who are 5 or 6 years younger than me with kids around the same age and they are always exhausted, too. It is what it is.

How the hell could you be a grandmother at 42? That is disgusting.

My sister-in-law became a grandmother at 34. She had her first kid at 14 or 15 and then that kid had her first kid at 19. That’s really young.

I would not prioritize exercise over sleep.

Get enough sleep first. Fit in your workouts around your schedule.

How about not have children when you are too old only to complain about it later?
You just want people to make huge mistakes and say oh well.

The reason you are tired is that you aren't getting enough sleep. Period. And if you are feeling this tired, it's likely that it will take some time to make up the sleep deficit.

Start making it a priority to get more sleep. Go to bed earlier or sleep later. Your kids are old enough that you should be able to exercise around them. Leave your DH in charge of dinner one night a week and exercise after work. Exercise while your kid is at practice. Exercise on your lunch hour. Cut back on the exercise if you need to. Sleep is more important.
