I haven't heard anything from our club after we signed up for SFL.

They hired someone just to do the rec administration. The SFL guy was a volunteer, and he had his sh!t together more.

Demosphere does the scheduling for you and the age groups have 1-2 divisions vs. the travel divisions having 8 or whatever. There is no excuse for the delay.

SFL was a weird org but that guy did the schedules himself and always had them out several weeks before games started.

Where is the schedule? The travel schedule has been out for weeks, and games start the same day for both.

I don't think a travel business should be running a rec league at all. The best interests of the rec teams will always be considered secondary to keeping the travel customers happy.

Running the rec league is how they can bring in travel players.
Also, in some places, field space is given out based on the total number of players.

This is the reason. In Fairfax county, the number of county residents using the facility matters. If a club cleaves off a large travel program, rec may end up with the better field allocation from the county

Agree. SFL always had schedules up by now and they did them by hand. NCSL is using demosphere scheduling which is much easier.

The rec side schedules should be a lot less complicated since instead of a million divisions per age group, there is only 1 or 2. (And honestly, why does NCSL have SO many divisions on the travel side? Is there any noticeable difference between travel teams in division 6 and division 8-seems a bit silly.)

I just want the schedule to be posted. SFL always had it up 2-3 weeks before the first game. That would be now.

This is hilarious. People dropped their kids off at my son's SFL games and ran errands. There were barely any parents present esp at away games with carpooling. The low pay, I believe. It seemed like some games, the center ref was younger than the players.

High strung parents at rec games compared to travel? LOL.

They can't staff the SFL games because inexplicablyt the pay is less for the same age, even though its the same job for the same length of time. You can ref a U19 rec game or a U-little travel game for the same pay, of course everyone wants the shorter, easier game.
