Also, someone who is educated, employed, and debt free is most men. How about a guy who works as a Burger King manager who reads books and is educated/smart? Never went to college, but has no debt and earns $65k a year. Would be be approved? 100% not.


It depends on where their own kid stands, most parents prefer partners comparable to their kids and ones who are loving, caring and free of major physical, behavioral, drug/alcohol and financial challenges.

That isn't really marrying for money though. Ambition and potential are very different attribute wise. Projecting someone to do well enough to be wealthy in 10+ years is a lot different IMO.

This is not true.


+1. "Educated" usually means a college degree. "Highly educated" means an advanced degree (masters, JD, PhD, professional masters or doctorate). However, you can be very intelligent without having a college degree.

Most women aren’t attractive and socially savvy enough to attract the billionaires/hundred millionaires but just about every cares about financial stability in a man. The only question is the extent.

At 25 few people are wealthy unless born into it. You marry someone for many reasons including the potential to have a good career. We have plenty of wealthy friends and none of them were born into it. At the same time plenty of people never achieve their potential.

Of course, they still do it, but it's less common now because women can make their own money, which is far better than relying on a man. Look at Jackie Kennedy and the sacrifices she made for money - JFK was a serial cheater, and Aristotle Onassis had a reputation for domestic violence and an ongoing public affair with Maria Callas.
