Towns with harsh winter are worse than harsh summer as school is in session not closed for 3 months.

Houston is a very liberal and diverse town. Food scene is impressive, free museums, beachs, NASA, parks, drive to Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, New Orleans, Arkansas scenic areas, take cruise to Port Aransas and much more. Affordable housing, state of art medical district, huge number of oil, energy, finance jobs, etc. On top of that, become Texas resident and open up a plethora of low cost medical schools where 90% seats are reserved for locals.

Went to college at AU in the 80s and we partied on campus, off campus and in Georgetown. Fantastic location

I was not a fan of Worcester. It felt very suburban. Same for Brandeis's town (can't remember).

I was ok with Poughkeepsie. It was a little schizophrenic, but I kind of liked the gritty contrast to the college part.

Iowa City

The area around University of Southern CA is hideous. Also didn't care for Lewiston, Maine.

I think Clinton is kind of cute. And safe.

Not a busting town, but has the basics.

Would chose that any day over fear of being jumped when going off campus.
