Pick something that your family likes to eat. I did chicken a la king when I was in elementary school because it's something my mom and her mom made. Yes my grandma got the recipe from a can of soup. It's still my heritage.

SAD=Standard American Diet
If you are from Maine, you could bring something with blueberries.
If you’re from Florida, then you can bring a dish with citrus.
