That is the North Bronx -Riverdale is just South Westchester. Very different from the South Bronx.

J Los parents were smart enough to put them in Catholic school in the much nicer Throgs Neck area. I knew an Irish girl who went to Preston High School with J Lo . She was more tomboy back then-a star Athlete running track and had the same short hair her teen daughter has now.

I respect her for cutting ties with Diddy after the gun incident.

She also has a good PR team. Not much negative has gotten out about her.

That new movie she has out is really bizarre. I started watching it out of curiosity but it was unwatchable.

+1. I don't get it. She's rich and old enough to retire and be a mom. Some of these A list women can't seem to just fade gracefully. They have to hold on and cling to the fame. Beyonce the same way, albeit ten or whatever years younger than JLo.

I think she looks amazing, but I am not a fan of most of him er acting + singing.

+1 hopping from man to man was cute when she was younger, but once she had kids, she should have shown a little more discernment (and same goes for Mark Anthony, but this thread is about JLo). Her daughter was genuinely close with ARod’s kids and was crushed after their breakup. Then weeks later her mother is back with Affleck and she’s pushed into a new blended family.

She can act. I don’t think there is any doubt of that. She hasn’t always chosen (or been given) the most serious roles, but she can act. I like her songs, but I know she’s not a great singer. But overall onstage with the great dancing and the decent singing, she’s a good performer.

So she’s good at her career. Looking good is a part of her career. She also has had successful fashion and beauty brands. Looking good is definitely good for those businesses. Do you “feel sad” for people who are good at their careers? Doctors and lawyers who put in insane hours, etc.? She’s dedicated.

I don’t know why people say she’s so self involved. The product she sells is herself. She’s very good at that. She is a total workaholic maintaining the product she is selling and promoting it. I respect her dedication and I enjoy much of her music (not all of it). I also don’t know why people need to pick apart her Ben relationship. He’s obviously a guy with some issues and some talent—seems like she’s keeping him basically on track, which is an accomplishment. I think people read way too much into his facial expressions—I think he basically has RBF (men get to too! Jake Tapper always looks pissed off.). He seems like he is in on the joke about how miserable he looks and also about her fame/being in public eye. That actually makes me like him more. Maybe it will implode but every year he is sober is probably a good thing for him and his kids.

Their kids all seem totally normal to me. Many teens refuse to mug for the camera and many go through weird phases with their clothes or whatever. Good for J Lo and Ben for not forcing them into looking like little Mini Mes of tjem.

Thirty years ago if you had asked me to pick between Madonna and j Lo which would still be relevant in 2024, I would have said Madonna no contest. But Kadonna has become a joke. J Lo has done a much better job at understanding how to be a middle aged star and power broker. There’s only a handful of women that have done that.
