It's food, it is fine, sometimes kids just need something to eat to get through the day. They do not need to eat like us middle aged women here on DCUM.

Lunchable is just kid charcuterie

In OP’s mind, Lunchables are for a certain class of people. OP is perturbed because the Lunchable parents aren’t acting how she expects them to act based on their socioeconomic status. Bless her heart, she probably aspires to their status and here they are spoiling it with Lunchables.

I mean, you’re asking what would compel someone to only to give their kids Lunchables and them immediately call their supporters lazy also. So I think you already had your answer in mind and just wanted to spew your judgement.

My K daughter is super picky, and also doesn't like having the same thing for lunch every day. She loves Lunchables - so sometimes I buy and pack them. It is a life saver on days that I don't have a lot of time to pack her lunch or when my fridge is starting to run low on ingredients for homemade options. Money is not a particular concern of mine on this issue, but Lunchables are not cheaper than homemade lunches, so your suggestion that people with money shouldn't need to buy them is ridiculous.

You need to find a better outlet. Why are you even thinking abour another family's choices? I mean how does this affect you personally?

I didn’t send Lunchables but I used to volunteer a lot. You’d be surprised how many of the holier than thou parents super healthy lunches were either thrown out or traded. The kids who had Lunchables happily ate theirs and were often the envy of the table.

What’s wrong with a lunchable?

I pack my kid crap for lunch. I used to work hard to pack them really great things but it just came home uneaten and often rotted. They both take ADHD meds so aren't particularly hungry at lunch. They get good meals at home.

I am sort of a lazy mom at this point in life but that manifests more in my not wanting to sign them up for a bunch of extracurricular and letting them sleep in whatever they want to. I'd work hard to make sure they ate good lunches if I thought it wouldn't be wasted effort.

I don't pack lunchables but I have a very picky eater. He will not eat and go hungry rather than eat something he doesn't like. I have started to give him junk food in his lunch so he has something in his stomach at school. This is exactly the kind of judgment I fear.

Meanwhile, his brother who eats a wide range of foods has a gourmet bento box with all kinds of healthy stuff. Not your place to judge. Lunch is only one snapshot of the day.
