So did your DH wear black? Did people wear the right colors or revolt? We’re there cocktail dresses?

As are the stupid mood boards in that article. If their expectation is that people dress in weird shit with boobs hanging out, grandma’s doilies, or like George and Amal Clooney, they’re going to be sorely disappointed.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a great idea? I would love to see somnething like that-- the codes are sometimes mysterious and this is clear.

My takeaway is that I'm expected to do floor length, which stinks because my only dresses are cocktail length and at 5'2" it's hard to rent or get something that doesn't need a lot of tailoring. Am I expected to match the colors, too?

Length dresses but the bride didn’t trust people to know what to wear so she had to show them.

Not really. Black tie does not need to be floor length; white tie does.
