I tried the wipes recently and they are surprisingly effective. I couldn’t handle the sweaty vjay at night and the scent the next day. I am menopausal. The cool cucumber smell works well.

Yes, as a menopausal woman, Lume has been really effective. It does last all day, and also need it for underboob sweat as well as groin sweat.

Doesn't smell so great when I put it on, but I allow it to absorb in before I get dressed. A lot of the other deodorants don't work all day.

Totally agree about their male brand "mando." Commercials are absurd. They talk about how mando will help you stay fresh if you don't shower for 3 days. Who isn't showering for three days? They also say that mando is better than water. GTFO Lume/Mando.

I actually tried it because I like the commercials/marketing. While I agree with PPs that I don't love applying lotion to my vajay, it really is remarkable how well it works. It's good for underboobs, too.

I tried the antiperspirant deodorant and it works well, but I found the texture/application not great so probably won't put that in my regular rotation.

I had high hopes when they came out with the spray deodorant, but it didn't seem to work great and then the spray stopped dispensing after a handful of applications. I'm wondering if I just got a bum can and was just spraying myself with aerosol until it ran out. May give that another shot because that would solve the unpleasantness of lotioning my ladybits.

I’ve tried so many great natural deodorant Lume was the absolute worst of them all 1/10. Actually created BO and made it worse that’s no deodorant.

I've been using the powder-scented solid (just in my pits) for a couple of months now and I like it a lot. But - it's wintertime, and I don't work out much.

I also tried the creme and didn't (a) like the consistency or (b) find it as effective.

Agree. I don't always use it, but one example is if I'm going to be on a long car ride. Sitting for so long in doesn't allow much ventilation for the lady parts. Plus, close quarters being in a car and all. I don't LOVE applying a cream to my vulva, but the results are worth it in my experience.

This. 17 year old girls were already being bombarded with the message that their vaginas and vulvas are dirty, and that's why they're expected to shave everything off. Now the messaging is that just existing makes for a smelly vagina. It's really disconcerting, esp from a doctor.


I don't get that from the messaging. Crotches are prone to smelling for men and women. Not because vaginas are dirty or smelly, but because crotches don't breathe a lot in the clothes we wear, they sweat, they produce urine, and are adjacent to the place that produces feces. It's a prime environment for bacteria to be introduced and thrive, causing a smell no matter how good your daily hygiene is. And YMMV...it depends on your body chemistry, your body shape, your hormones.

I don't wear Lume, but use glycolic and/or salicylic acid as deodorant which is the same idea--I've been using it for a decade or more now and I wondered when someone would figure out how to market it and make money. Acidified skin isn't friendly to bacteria. If you don't want to spend the money on Lume, try Stridex in the red box pads, the Ordinary Glycolic toner, or Paula's Choice AHA/BHA toner. Any kind of acid that is marketed towards acne or chemical exfoliation will do the same thing Lume does at a much lower price.


I use Lume. Thank you for the info about the acid. I might give that a shot.

YES, and if I smell your butt that means you are not washing. If you’re hoo has smells you probably need to wash pad visit a doctor.
