Yes! The kids have to carry their binders, laptop, pencil pouches and headphones and stuff falls all the time. It sucks.
Get your kid a better pencil pouch that holds their headphones.
A binder, laptop, and pencil pouch is not a lot for kids to carry, unless they have a disability, of course.
Tissues, glasses, etc. pads/tampons? it’s a lot. They should be able to have a backpack to go around to their classes.

Because it makes hallways and classrooms too crowded. Also it's a hazard when people trip over them in a crowded classroom. Those were the reasons we were given.
That is very silly. No other FCPS middle school seems to have that rule.

It is if their classes are all over the school, and they are carrying multiple classes worth of items, b/c there is not enough time to get to the locker.

Anonymous wrote:I think it's an improvement with no lockers. I hated mine. In high school it was such a struggle to get to the locker, re-load the backpack, and then get to class on time. Plus, those stupid combination locks didn't always open, no matter how many times you painstakingly turned that little dial and pulled!

That’s awesome. I wish that was the rule at every middle school.
Anonymous wrote:My child’s middle school will not assign lockers to the students. They’re undergoing renovation and brand New lockers are being put in, yet the students will not be assigned them. The high school in our pyramid apparently does not use their lockers either. Why is this? These poor kids in the winter especially have fully loaded backpacks, jackets, instruments, lunches, water bottles, and they have to carry it all around all day to every class. It makes no sense to me why there are lockers in the schools but they refuse to assign them to students.
Are there any lockers being used anywhere in FCPS?
