35 when my mom died at 68 and less than two years later lost my dad at 74.

Almost all my other relatives have lived into their 80s and 90s. One was 102.

Those whose parents died so young, would you mind sharing the cause?

In my case (45) parents, in-laws, aunts, uncles, also those of DH, are still alive. All 80 and above. They are just now starting to decline, so I guess we need to brace ourselves for the first losses...

Cancer. No risk factors, just unlucky.

Mine at 50, 72. They both had cancer related to smoking (though Mom age 72 had quit years before). I don’t smoke. Sadly my brother does.

I think I am the poster who lost both their parents at the youngest age. I never really had parents as a "real adult" with a house and kids etc....

Dad from brain cancer that I am certain is related to a tour in Vietnam died 6 weeks after diagnosis.
Mom from a very aggressive breast cancer and less than a year after diagnosis.

All of my grandparents lived almost into their 80s and some well into their 90s.

My parents just had "bad luck of the draw".
