What does "mitigated" mean in this context? This concerns me: "the threat has been mitigated. as a result, there is no threat to the school at this time." This makes it sound like there was an actual threat (as opposed to a prank). The choice of words is worrisome.

A note just came out from the principal that the threat has been mitigated.

Hate to be political about it but is it possible that left wing outlets ignored it because FCPS leans left and right wing outlets ignored it because of gun control?

The matter is serious enough to not be discounted as a joke. Heck the school sent out 3 notifications already because of this.

+1. My kid goes there for AAP and has had an excellent education. My other child will also be attending LJ.

AAP is a bubble wherever you go. The regular kids though are a different story. I feel bad for those who have to go there but aren’t AAP.

My son, an LJ student, said "everyone knows the IG post is a bad joke about the bathroom graffiti." )He said it was on IG first and then copied to X/Twitter.
