It is a nicer setup than what exists with MA ECNL and even better now with more local teams.

There you have it. All you need is a “vision” and “infrastructure”! No need to show that you have strong teams or great coaches or a history of player development or anything at all! Every NCSL club in the DMV must be celebrating today knowing that their acceptance to GA is only a “vision” away. 🤣

They gave Alexandria the hard push out and metro no longer exists.
Anonymous wrote:Somewhat off topic but isn’t Alexandria kinda the odd one out here? Out of the (arguably) major clubs, everyone has a piece of ECNL or GA in area. They have MLS Next on the boys side so far from a stretch to consider them “major” and there’s a long list of NOVA clubs with a piece of ECNL or GA.
Granted their younger teams have been very weak besides 2012.

With Brave, BRYC needed help in order to survive in ECNL, so they did what they had to do. Vienna wanted in, so they participated in the partnership. For the league it was a no brainer since an existing club got better and more stable. One ECNL membership charter was formally transferred from BRYC to Brave.
If this were the same then FCV would be partnering with Revolution and I think that both clubs and the league would benefit. Instead, the GA is completely screwing FCV, and they now have two GA clubs in the same neighborhood as Loudoun ECNL. Loudoun County has a lot of kids, but that's one GA club too many.
FCV has had a bad few months, but they have as much money or more than Revolution so it's still too early to predict who wins in the long term. Probably not both though and not the new in improved watered down Girls Academy League.
