What? No. There's definitely a group of smaller schools that get little attention on DCUM growing like gangbusters because the ranking that matters is that FOR YOUR CHILD.
I mean, my kid would absolutely *crater* at a place like GDS because a progressive education style is kryptonite to his ability to focus; a more traditional school, like Blessed Trinity Gospel, in the strip mall next to the Piggly-Wiggly, therefore ranks significantly higher.

We are newer to Stone Ridge and loving it. I asked my child what her favorite classes were, and she surprised me with Science and Religion. She said the teacher in the latter is really nice. If that's what you mean by brainwashing, she's easily swayed I guess! I would not call it heavy handed--she does find questions/discussions about life/the universe/ethics/purpose etc. interesting though. Has since she was little.

This. Do what’s best for your family. If that is soul-crushing workload and hopes of Ivy admission, then cool, I guess. But we picked a school that hasn’t been mentioned yet because it’s best for what our kids need right now — smaller classes, dedicated teachers, expansive academic offerings, engaged students, etc. — which is all we care about. We are aiming for happy kids, not instagram clout.
