The Subaru "Gold Plus" extended warranty plan is amazing. It's the real deal. You can buy it from any dealership, so definitely read the Subaru forums to see who is selling it for cheapest.
I did not have a great experience with Fitzgerald. Their OTD model is that they give you a price and they don't negotiate. I called around to dealerships and priced the car I wanted on the phone. I got the best price on the phone from a dealer on the opposite side of DC from me. Fitzgerald is 5 m away, so I went and their price was $800 more than my quote & they wouldn't match. So, OK, no negotiation is their model, but instead of just saying that they proceeded to try to bully me into buying the car from them, telling me the other dealer wouldn't live up to the quote, etc.
I already have a long car service history with Fitzgerald and feel like they are constantly upselling me on service.
I was so turned off, I bought from the other place. They honored the all-in price quote, and were happy to serve me even though I paid without financing.
