I agree with this. My bigger concern in this scenario is that they’re replacing someone with tech experience with you. What do you add, and what problem could you solve? It seems to me that they expect you to be responsible for something more than starting the zoom call, even if that’s how it’s framed. That would be my concern.
I know many people in tech who have to work odd hours because teams are across the world. Not great to spring it on you, but I think that goes with the territory if your total number of hours don’t increase.
