Is this at others' schools?

Are you satisfied with your HS counselor? Why? Or why not? Besides special education needs, if your kid has met with their counselor, how did your student/kid find the interaction to be? Was it for academic reasons, social-emotional etc.

The counselor should be one moved or removed depending on what the situation is. That poster's child/ren's school years shouldn't have to be disturbed. Contact Principal if grade level admin is not an option.

Yea right. Tell an administrator who will then tell counselor which person told them? My gosh the gossip is horrible.

If gossip is that bad, move.

I’d report why you want the transfer as well. That counselor needs to know that this is the perception, even if it’s not true.

To whom do you report suggestion for transferring a counselor? Students don't feel like sharing issues with a counselor because that counselor gossips students' issues to other students in the grade. Currently a 7th grade counselor.

Course registration in terms of which class to take is all on families to figure out. Should be a better system with knowledgeable counselors or teachers helping students.

More academic advising needed. For even those that have parents or older siblings that can help but especially for students who do not have adults at home to guide the students.

Typically counselors do not seem as knowledgeable or creative to assist high performing students, in our HO.
