My sophomore DD has a full-sized canopy bed from Pottery Barn, which she absolutely loves. She does have a sheer canopy up that and she hung fairy lights on the posts and off the canopy.

My 8th grader DS has a boring old Pottery Barn queen frame with sleigh-type headboard (no footboard). He moved into the guest room a few years ago and we couldn’t change out the beds.

Ok thank you for this! We were considering one of the low loft beds and had some concerns. The room is really small and I’m trying to figure out how to make the space work better but maybe this is not it!

My son used to have a room that was 8 x 10 and we bought a low loft bed because we thought it would give more space took up so much visual
space and ended up being more cluttered

Hey, it's not bad like you think it is lol.

It doesn't look too babyish. All depends on how you decorate the room. Her room actually has a nice Paris vibe with the black, pale pink, white decor in her room. I think it will get her through high school.

My teen has an Ikea Malm. Inherited from us when we upgraded. It's older than DS(16) and still going strong, and I like the feel of it much better than the one we upgraded to.
