Subject: How enticing is a 4 day work week for you?
Four 10 hour workdays? Couldn’t do it due to elemtary age kids. Would probably have liked it okay back when I was single.
Four 8 hour workdays? Hell yes I’d love that. Current job which I otherwise love doesn’t offer part time though and anyway I think it would only work if the schedule was business wide; otherwise people would always get pulled into working on their day off. My sister worked for a company that did Friday half days in the summer and apparently that worked pretty well because everyone was off together in the afternoons.

Very. Two years ago I took a pay and position cut to reduce stress and at that time I asked for and got a four day workweek. I chose to take Fridays off and it has been wonderful. It means I don't have to save all my errands for the weekend and truly does feel more work/life balanced than five days of work and two days of weekend. Or, it's just my free day to do whatever I want or do nothing.
I do some work on Fridays, but it is usually internally motivated versus actual demands. Right now I'm checking in more on Fridays due to recent staff turnover but that's a temporary situation.

As an empty-nester I would happily take a longer workday (in or out of the office) in exchange for a full day off!

Sold!
I'd take it, and later negotiate to 4 10 hr days WFH.
This.
I used to have a 4-day workweek and absolutely loved it. That extra “weekend day” (mine was Monday off) for errands and gym when few were out & about was heavenly.
