Demanding yes, toxic...depends on the club and coach. There are ECNL clubs and teams in NOVA with very positive environment for development.
Positive environment and development don't work for NOVA clubs. You can't win that way. It's kick and run. Watch the top teams in NOVA. That's all they do.

They don't really matter until maybe U13 but really IMO, platforms that are built on the basis of college recruitment shouldn't really be a thing until HS age years like U15 and up.
Colleges aren't going to watch your U13-U15 kid at showcases, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But those leagues will take money however they can.
