All of the illegals and welfare class would be escaping to your shithole sanctuary cities.

Let’s see what kind of military you can raise without all the Texans. You gonna replace them with blue-haired kids from Vermont?

It’s good to have choices.
So you mean all the red taker states would leave? Man, can you imagine how awesome that would be for the blue states that have been subsidizing them for the past 70 years?
The takers of all states would immigrate to the blue country. Producers would move to red
Sure. No social security, medicare, FDIC, farm subsidies, federal highway program, federal prison system, CBP, Homeland security, military, access to US weapons, access to the US market, OSHA, unions, worker rights, SEC, etc. All companies with HQ in Texas or other states would be considered foreign companies and taxed according. Oil and gas producers would lose subsidies. Texas gets anywhere from 25-50% of it state budget from the federal government. No NFL or college football.
About 1/2 the state’s population would leave the state. It would be a very hard time in Texas. Texas would also reinstate slavery.
The Republic of Texas would just go bankrupt again after achieving "independence" and then come crawling back to the U.S. like it did 180 years ago.

Anonymous wrote:Texas secessionist group locks down Facebook page after fears about losing Social Security checks leak out
The Texas secession movement is being mocked online after one of its supporters questioned whether leaving the Union would interfere with their Social Security benefits.
In response, the Facebook group, which describes itself as a place for “Texans to discuss the pros and cons of secession” went private.
A screenshot of the question, asked by a user in the Facebook group “Texas Patriots for Secession,” went viral on Monday after being shared across social media.
“If we secede, do we still get our Social Security monthly checks?” the user asked.
As the question went megaviral, the page appeared to be locked down, making content visible only to members.

The hearty group of people asking if they would still receive social security and ACA benefits?
Ok.
Social security isn’t welfare. Recipients pay for it when they work. The government doesn’t invest the contributions and pays back in devalued dollars. ACA sucks.
