Winter here is more like summer or fall where I'm from. Snow instead of grayness would be nice thought.

Soggy ground; short days; gray, sunless skies; cold, wet wind. What's not to like?

No, I enjoy every season equally. Winter has Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I love when it snows! Love to light the fireplace and make hot chocolate, love being cozy inside. Love winter clothes, love to cook and bake in the winter. Sometimes it drags on a little too long, but overall I love it.

I don't mind the cold but the gray really gets to me. This year seems a lot worse than previous ones. I hope it's an anomaly.

Cool and cloudy is my ideal.

Same here. I am the complete opposite of OP. I absolutely when fall starts rolling around, and on into winter. I actually start getting depressed knowing that warm weather will be here in a few months. If it could remain cool/cold all year, I would be thrilled.

What are you talking about? It was just in the 70's the other day.

Embrace hygge like PP was alluding to. Get into baking, crafting, and learn a new skill. Take vitamin D and try to get exercise.

Yes! Hibernate. Lots of naps.

I hear you, OP! I’ve created a hygge (cozy) house, I have a ski trip planned, and I play an indoor sport that gives me endorphins but man, winter is ROUGH for me. The darkness zaps my energy so I put on my pjs at 5pm most nights (I WFH). My feet are **always** cold I’m like a plant that shrivels up without lots and lots of light.

January is certainly a very depressing and tough month to get through. There is hangover from New Years and the weight of a new year can be tough for some people to bear. Also the cold weather leads to a lot of older folks dying so it can be a really, really tough month.

I hate the summers here, however. SO MANY MOSQUITOES. I can stand (barely) the humidity and heat. But I have a reaction to mosquitoes bites and just can't stand them.

NP. I also grew up in a place where the sun didn’t fully rise until after 8:30 (we walked to school in the dark) and set at 3 during the winter. Hated it then, hate it now. The cold doesn’t bother me, but the short gray days definitely do.

OP, at least the days are getting longer now.

I'm with you OP. It didn't help that we had just come off of a particularly busy December, with travels and holiday parties and get togethers. These last 2 weeks have been very blah, with snow melt and wet grounds the kids can't play outside as much. They're going stir crazy and so am I.

Get yourself some long underwear and an Ororo heated vest and go outside. It’s in the 40s and completely reasonable weather to do just about anything if you dress appropriately. Wear a hat.

I am a 4 seasons person and I love winter. Skiing is my favorite sport so I look forward to that in particular. I don't mind cold so will take walks outside although admit the early dark gets in the way of that during the week. I like the coziness of being inside in front of the fire in winter.

I love being cozy in winter, but Fall is my favorite.

I feel like everything is meaningless until spring. I don’t know how else to describe it. I’m not “depressed”; I get up on time every morning, do the things I have to do, find enjoyment in other things, have moments of joy. But it all feels pointless, like somehow life is on pause. (Which I guess, it sort of is!) Does anyone else experience this? January is hard.

Yes, if Arizona was not running out of water I would move. Now I just travel but it's not the same.
