I mean... for real. I see this all over the city all day long. Why should anyone obey any traffic laws? The city does not care.
You only obey traffic laws while driving because you're afraid of getting caught by the police, and other than that, it's anything goes? Seriously?
Yes. 100%. Dead serious. If there is zero chance of getting a ticket you can bet your a$$ I'm picking and choosing what traffic laws I'm following.

Today 7 cars drove nearly the length of an entire block, trying to cut around cars, and there were 2 near crashes. With children in the car! This is a major safety issue and it's not difficult to solve--- We need to install flexible/removable barriers.

What school is this?
It’s parents coming from Virginia to drop their kids off at the private Catholic schools - visitation, Saint Ann’s, plus work is trying to get to their jobs at Georgetown University & the hospital
DC doesn’t even enforce its traffic laws for its residents. The District is fully incapable of doing so for VA drivers.
They can enforce the laws on VA and MD residents if an actual cop pulls them over and tickets. They just don't have to pay camera fines.

The police in this city are a joke.
Raise your hand if you think this actually happened.

They're coming from VA and driving the wrong way on M street to drop their kids off at a school that isn't on M street and closed 10 years ago?

Ah, rich people.
no, troll. school closed 10 years ago
There is a St. Ann school at Tenley Circle.
OP, fine if you’re venting however this is not the place to effect traffic enforcement.

Ah, rich people.
Holy Trinity parents too. They are some of the worst offenders - will basically sit and block traffic on one-way side streets waiting for pickup. Nearly got in a fight with some lady in a Chevy Suburban who decided to stop and block a street for over 10 minutes while her fat ass waited for her spawn. There were 15 cars behind her, trapped on a one way street.

Your personal responsibility isn't all that much either, it seems.
This is why you see men in fancy business suits jumping the metro fare gates. When something isn’t against the law (or you don’t enforce the law) society falls apart.
I took the metro for the first time in a long time today, and wondered why I should pay the fare.
That is between you and your conscience.
Do you also wonder why you shouldn't murder people? If you could murder someone and get away with it, would you do that?

Yes, as we all know, if everyone else is doing something that's wrong, it's no longer wrong and you should do it, too.
I think that's how we legalized marijuana and that turned out fine.
