Also, I forgot to mention -- I have been watching a lot of extreme budget meal videos on Youtube. A lot of what you see there isn't great (lots of canned soup in stuff, yuck-- we are trying to be healthy here) -- but I got super inspired watching one woman make her own pierogis for like nothing, and now I make my own pierogis and they are the most delicious thing ever.

An Eastern European here. Not only all that filling stuff - blintzes, pierogis, pel’meni (a ravioli type thingies), and so on - very cheap to make, it does very well in the freezer, so you can make a lot and store for the future.

Learn to cook and keep adding new recipes to your repertoire. That way you add variety to your meals and can buy whatever produce is on sale and use it. Start buying things on sale to stock your pantry and freezer.

Make a soup with veggies that you’re not going to eat or that are about to go bad.

Keep the variety up because when I feel trapped into eating certain frugal foods, I rebel and buy something fancy at the store.

House brands, pick based off price, stock up on staples when lower price, aldi's and Walmart (their delivery service is great).

I agree. Initially I wasn’t paying much attention to it and just getting a few dollars off, but the items you get with points are basically free. Choices include produce, eggs, chicken, cheese, etc.
