I drive to work this morning Potomac to Reston in 25 minutes. Roads are empty and perfect.

Roads were easy this AM in DC. Thank god daycare opened at its normal time. Sitting in my federal office and it’s quiet.

It looks like Friday will be another round of menacing weather! Here’s hoping OPM makes an early call (I know this is unlikely) so we can plan a worthwhile long weekend.

It’s 14 degrees and my street is a sheet of ice.

I’m waiting to see all the initial posts about how the roads are all over town. Enough households don’t have the option of telework that people are starting to go out.

Honestly, it really should be. It wouldn’t get above freezing. It’ll be treacherous as hell tomorrow.

Everyone keeps saying this and I really don’t get it. We don’t want it to get above freezing? For safe travel I mean. DC is usually so treacherous in winter because the temperature bops back and forth across the freezing mark so everything melts into sheets of slush/water then refreezes. But if it stays below freezing the cleared ice and snow stays cleared and things are fine until we get more snow.

Go to work like the private sector does. Suck it up butter cup.

What’s unscheduled telework?

For someone who is telework eligible but would normally be scheduled to work in person tomorrow, they may be able to telework if they feel it’s not safe to commute.

If you're capable of teleworking, even if you were scheduled to be in person tomorrow, you can telework and your boss can't say no. Liberal leave then means if you can't work at all, you can take leave without pre-approval.
