Why was it cancelled?

Hopefully a pool issue and not related to the health or safety of a swimmer or spectator.

Colgan started on time and has had no issue yet.

We just got an email that the Fairland pump is acting up and 9-10 session today is cancelled. Is anyone on the ground there and have any additional info? Is 11-12 session suspended? Any talk of whether this is cold-related and what they might do for the rest of the sessions?

Are the other sites operating okay today?

I just got an email from a coach that said the 9-10 session is canceled, and they will update later on the 13O session. But apparently the earliest 11-12 session went off already? Why would they cancel the later sessions then? At the Fairland site.

My swimmer is at Colgan and I hope that the show goes on. We live in Arlington, so it is ridiculous our club is put down there and not a closer pool.

Winter classic was the last meet and the events were chosen for my swimmer - so not what they wanted but what was needed to score points. So they need to swim this weekend an event for IMX qualification.

Frustrating if what some of the other posters are saying about Colgan is true.

My swimmer is NCAP Alex and we are also there even though it’s about an hour away. So frustrating.

All the sites are very evenly balanced in terms of numbers of swimmers. Maybe they could have sent Claude Moore to Colgan and Alexandria to Audrey Moore instead, but there’s only so much they can do when they are trying to balance numbers. Be glad that NCAP West and OCCS don’t attend the January Open because the Colgan site would have been packed.

We were moved from Audrey Moore (same as last year) and it is frustrating because it is so far away. At least rotate the teams that are moved so it’s not the same ones every year. Spread the misery! lol

That sucks! With NCAP West and OCCS not coming they must have been undersubscribed compared to the other sites. Lol, they definitely should share the pain, CM isn’t that much closer to Audrey Moore than Colgan anyway.

Machine was also assigned to PWCS and isn’t participating, which helped cut numbers there as well, I’d assume.

We were reassigned from Audrey Moore to Colgan ( second year in a row but DC didn’t swim January Open last year so it didn’t affect us). It’s only 15 minutes more from my house and for what I’ve been told is a better racing pool, I’m ok with that. DC is disappointed that HS swim was canceled tonight and would love to make up for it with good swims tomorrow!

Audrey Moore site has a delay due to the rec center opening later. New times are posted.

The PVS website says in an update from 5 pm that all sites are set to be open on time to run the meet and to use your own best judgment about getting there.

FCPS schools just canceled activities for tomorrow so imagine we'll see the update from PWCS next.

As of 4:30pm PWCS site says school buildings are open on Saturday for activities.

Just got an email from our coach that the current plan is to proceed as scheduled tomorrow. And we’re at Colgan.
