Bethesda, Courthouse, Vienna . . . ?

Pentagon City has them as well. So folks get in at pentagon and jump there.

Time to deploy MPs at Pentagon station?

They need turnstiles that go from the floor up to at least 10 feet. NYC uses them. Most people are out of shape and wouldn't have the upper body strength to be able to climb metal bars to hop over. They need these:

Yes, I remember the older version of those. They’re awful when traveling with luggage. I’m surprised that they don’t violate the ADA.

I don’t understand why there’s a giant gap in the handicap doors. Seems like it would be easy to design with a one-inch gap that is more difficult to squeeze through. In any event, none of this matters so long as DC refuses to enforce the laws and prosecute criminals.

WMATA needs to skip the nonsensical half measures and get serious. Make the doors metal or ballistic grade glass, at least 5’ high, secured with steel bolts, and leave no more than an inch between the doors.

Ask the council to make the punishment for fare jumping meaty?

Unbelievable!!

Believable.

This is D.C.

Who designed the new gates? A sole-source, politically well-connected local DC firm?

Maybe, but the D.C. government doesn't run Metro.
