My child plays on top team and has been invited to join the team for their age group. My child isn't super excited about playing games in the July heat; and we like to go out of town a lot in summer. Will it be viewed negatively to skip Super Y? Child will play in U11 next year.

Super Y is for ANY player who just wants to keep playing over the summer. There is nothing magical about it and there is nothing terrible about it.
It isn't free so the value proposition will certainly vary. From a clubs perspective it is an extra revenue generator more than it is a tool for scouting. It's just a casual summer league that may or may not include a practice schedule. There really isn't anything to debate other than your own personal schedule.
