I can't believe how long it took for someone to get to this, the correct response

I'd just stop looking at her?? I get that you dont want curtains, but that doesnt mean you need to peep into other peoples homes.

Keep your eyes on your dishes, bam, no awkward eye contact.

Thanks for reading! I guess I failed to ask my question, which was, am I wrong to look out my window in the evenings when I know I can see into her apartment? I’m not specifically looking at her apartment, but I sort of can’t help it. Would it be polite to cover my window? Or is it fine since she doesn’t close hers until she sees me?

you are fine- what is wrong with her, at her age she should know that if you want private, you rush around at twilight and pull down all the shades! I have such fond memories of being at my grandmothers house and her having a curtains open at dawn/wake up time chore for us and a pull them down when it gets dark chore for us. I still pull the blinds down in the bedrooms as soon as it gets dark enough to need a light. We dont have them in the rest of the house and can see into our neighbors kitchen from our dining room- we just wave and then get on with dinner/boardgame/puzzle.

You don’t need curtains IF you can stop yourself from staring into her bedroom and making eye contact every night. Wtf OP? You’re a creep.

OK, wait -- you think everyone should put up curtains on their OWN windows so they can't look into YOUR window which doesn't have curtains drawn?

That's nuts. You can live in a cave if you want, but don't tell me I have to.

PLEASE do this and report back to us!

Given when you look out you look into her home, yes, put up a sheer curtain.

You know you are in your kitchen. To her it probably looks like you are just standing there staring into her bedroom.

I would probably just buy a kitchen window curtain & put it up to ease the awkwardness.

Anonymous wrote:Maybe consider a very sheer curtain - keep it open during the day and close it at night. That might remove some of the awkwardness.

This is my suggestion, also.
