You don't think an employer can sue a former employee for using contacts at their new job to adversely effect their old employer? Most clubs are run on a shoe string. STJ is a large private equity backed business.

No I don't think that an employer can recover from a former employee for using contacts at their new job to adversely effect their old employer. Absent a noncompete agreement. Even with such an agreement the chances are slim to none as this is not code or the Coke formula but a soccer coach. Indeed such a lawsuit could get an antitrust counter claim which would subject the other side to triple damamges and attorneys fees. So no this will not happen.
